Royce Austin was forged from the sheer tenacity of his alter ego, Austin Royce Richason. A musical traveler hailing from Denver, Colorado, he defies convention as he blends hip-hop, R&B, soul, pop, classical grandeur, and cinematic undertones to create a captivating and inspiring sound. A man of faith and family with a wife and three small children, his music authentically resonates with the struggles and triumphs of the millennial experience.
Early on, Royce's ability to hear fully completed songs in his mind posed a unique challenge: accurately translating what he heard into well-produced tracks. At 15, however, his prowess took center stage when he surprisingly won an essay contest in his English class, leading to the purchase of the Reason DAW. Since then, he's worked to develop himself into a well-rounded songwriter-producer and artist, able to fully realize his musical visions.
Years at a job tested his conviction that he should just focus on his music. But it's been affirmed in many ways, including a 2020 finalist nod in the U.S.A. Songwriting Competition for his original song "YWF (Young Wild and Free)" in collaboration with R&B singer Shyann Lee. Now, having completed his own debut album, titled "AJ" after his first son, Royce is set to self-release each song, starting with his first single, "On That." Travel with him and perhaps witness the birth of something special.
